This Veterans Day, Home Helpers® Home Care is proud to spotlight Dr. David L. Johnson, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, decorated veteran, and Home Helpers Home Care franchise owner serving the greater Gainesville, VA area.
Dr. Johnson's story is one of unwavering dedication to service, a commitment that spans nearly four decades and continues today through his work with Home Helpers® Home Care.
A Legacy of Military Service
Dr. Johnson's military career began in 1986 as a Cannon Crewman at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After earning his commission through Auburn University's ROTC Battalion in 1989, he went on to serve in key leadership and strategic roles at the highest levels of the Department of Defense.
But perhaps most meaningful was his work with the U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program, where he advocated for veterans recovering from injuries, living with disabilities, and transitioning from military to civilian life. He also worked closely with veterans’ spouses and families, helping them navigate the changes that come with supporting a loved one transitioning back to civilian life.
Continuing the Mission Through Home Care
Today, Dr. Johnson brings that same passion for advocacy and service to his Home Helpers® Home Care franchise, delivering compassionate, customized care to families throughout Bristow, Catharpin, Dumfries, Dale City, Gainesville, Haymarket, Manassas, Montclair, Sudley Springs, Triangle, Woodbridge, and surrounding communities in Northern Virginia.
"I've dedicated my entire career to serving others, both in the United States Army and the private sector, and I'm proud to bring that same passion for service to Home Helpers Home Care," says Dr. Johnson.

One of Dr. Johnson’s veteran clients shared that their life has been transformed since receiving care from Home Helpers® Home Care and the dedicated Caregivers on Dr. Johnson’s team.
